Learning and Development Coordinator
We are looking for a Learning and Development Coordinator to join our Paris HR team.
As L&D Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to implement and enhance our program for both legal and professional staff (combining soft and technical skills) and to become a member of a dynamic and professional team in an attorney-orientated firm culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. In addition, you will be an integral member of the Global Learning & Development team, and their development and implementation of global and EME programs for both legal and professional staff.
You will report to the Operations Manager of the Paris office, and be a member of the global Learning & Development team functionally managed by the Director of Learning & Development. In this role, you will work closely and coordinate with both Human Resource managers in the Paris office, as well as other colleagues on the Human Resources team.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Professional Development
- Assist in the planning, organization and execution of both in-person and virtual trainings for attorneys and professional staff, including sending out invitations, reminders and surveys, tracking attendance, including both local office and regional programming (e.g., EME Acculturation, Junior Fundamentals Retreat, EME miniMBA, Core Curriculum, etc.).
- Provide support and assistance to the Partner in charge of Legal Professional Training for the Paris office.
- Liaise with other Firm departments (e.g., catering, facilities, audio/video, IT) to schedule, plan and execute pre- and post-program logistics for both live in-person and online programming.
- Support the Legal Learning and Development Manager and Director, and other team personnel and attorneys in preparing training program materials, and ensure that they are kept updated on the Firm’s online resources.
- Track professional staff and lawyer developmental needs, liaising with the Talent team to ensure that training programs are informed by annual associate reviews, staffing meetings and other sources.
- Publicize the Firm’s training resources within the Paris office.
- Liaise with training contacts in other offices for multi-office programs and events.
- Work collaboratively with global Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I) and Well-being teams to implement DE&I and Well-being programs for Paris legal and professional staff.
Continuing Professional Development
- Issue CPD/CLE (Continuing Legal Education) credits to lawyers, maintaining an expertise in the CPD/CLE rules as needed.
- Coordinate administrative requirements relating to Paris Bar training.
- Serve as a resource/point of contact for questions on necessary requirements to make programs eligible for CPD/CLE credit.
- Manage eLearning materials on the Firm’s learning management system using Micron CE Manager.
- Publicize CPD/CLE opportunities (both internal and external) and assist in logistical planning of CPD/CLE programming.
- Monitor weekly arrivals and departures of professional staff and lawyers and ensure that all relevant department files are updated to reflect status and developmental needs.
- General work and assistance on ad-hoc projects.
- Manage files directly with the OPCO, keep up to date with French legislation on professional training.
- Participate in Professional interviews with the HR team, implement identified training courses and follow-up.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- University degree preferably in HR sciences
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in training-related activities as specified above, preferably in a legal or international business environment
- Excellent communications and organizational skills (both orally and in writing)
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
- Good command of Microsoft applications, in particular advanced functions in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe; and fluent English (oral and written)
- Experience with Micron CE Manager and hosting Zoom events a plus
- Strong events coordination skills
