Opened in 2012 as a foreign legal consultant office, Cleary Gottlieb’s Seoul office reflects our longstanding involvement in and commitment to Korea. 

Over the past two decades, we have grown to one of the leading international practices covering Korea. Our presence in Seoul allows us to serve both our Korea-based clients as well as clients outside the region doing business there more efficiently and effectively.

We offer a talented and deep team of native Korean-speaking U.S. lawyers as well as a thorough understanding of the region. Our Seoul office is fully integrated with the firm’s larger Asia practice, which includes approximately 25 lawyers worldwide fluent in Korean.

Reflecting the firm’s overall commitment to creating a seamlessly interwoven legal practice, our Seoul office is not departmentalized by specialty. Many lawyers have had international experience, including rotations in one or more of our offices around the world; they are fluent in managing international transactions and dispute resolutions and collaborate easily with global colleagues. All our lawyers handle a wide variety of assignments and work cooperatively to share abilities across practices and jurisdictions.
