Cleary Gottlieb represented Google Inc. in the acquisition of AppJet Inc., a company that develops Web-based word processing software that allows people to simultaneously edit documents. This strategic acquisition, together with related employment arrangements, will bolster Google Wave, Google’s nascent online communication service that enables people to share text messages, photos, videos and maps. The deal closed on December 4.
