Cleary Gottlieb Receives NYSBA’s 2023 President’s Pro Bono Service Award

Cleary Gottlieb has received the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) 2023 President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the Large Law Firm category.

Katherine Hughes, Cleary’s Director of Pro Bono – U.S., accepted the award on the firm’s behalf at a ceremony on May 1. Cleary was co-nominated by Lawyers Alliance for New York, The Legal Aid Society, and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, supported by The Bronx Defenders, Sanctuary for Families, and Start Small Think Big.

Each year on Law Day the New York State Bar Association proudly bestows the President’s Pro Bono Service Award on individuals and entities who have rendered extraordinary pro bono service over the preceding year. The awards recognize their outstanding accomplishments and highlight the importance of pro bono efforts in achieving equal access to justice.
