Antofagasta to Invest in Buenaventura

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Antofagasta plc (Antofagasta) in its transactions in the secondary market to acquire beneficial ownership of approximately 19% of the outstanding shares of Compañia de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. (Buenaventura).

Antofagasta and Buenaventura have entered into discussions to develop a framework of collaboration.

Antofagasta, headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange, is an international mining company, focused on copper and its by-products. Buenaventura, headquartered in Lima and listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Lima Stock Exchange, is Peru’s largest, publicly traded precious and base metals company.
