Joseph McShane’s practice focuses on UK and EU competition litigation.

He advises clients on all aspects of competition litigation and his experience includes representing clients in private damages and collective actions in the High Court and the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal. Joseph also maintains a pro-bono practice that focusses on UK asylum and family re-unification applications.

Joseph joined the firm in 2021.

  • Lerøy in its defense of claims brought on behalf of UK consumers, and UK supermarkets, in relation to alleged cartel conduct in the market for farmed Atlantic salmon.

  • “K” Line in its defense of a follow-on damages class action brought on behalf of UK consumers in relation to anticompetitive practices in the market for deep-sea car carrier services.

  • Valeo in its defense of claims brought by Stellantis for alleged anticompetitive practices in the market for climate control products.

  • Representing clients in first instance applications and appeals in front of the Immigration Tribunal in relation to asylum and entry applications made on behalf of Afghan citizens.
