Medalia Productions Produces The Oslo Diaries

Cleary Gottlieb represented Medalia Productions Ltd. (Medalia Productions) in its production of The Oslo Diaries, a powerful and enlightening documentary about the diplomacy of a select group of Israelis and Palestinians who gathered secretly in Oslo in an attempt to change the political landscape of the Middle East forever.

The documentary made its world premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and debuted in the United States on HBO on September 13, 2018, to honor the 25th anniversary of the Oslo Peace Accords. The Oslo Diaries is now available in the United States on HBO and will air globally on a variety of other networks.

Cleary has been involved in each stage of the film’s production since its inception over three years ago. The firm drafted and negotiated the engagement agreements with the directors and writers of the film; the co-production agreement with co-producer Intuitive Pictures Productions Inc.; the consent, license, and release agreements with individuals who appear in the documentary, including political figures involved in the Oslo Peace Accords; and the licenses to excerpts from books, diaries, and archives incorporated into the documentary. Cleary further represented Medalia Productions in its distribution and license agreements with networks and distributors in a variety of jurisdictions. 

Cleary has logged more than 600 pro bono hours of intellectual property, taxation, corporate, and international law work in connection with the film.
