Fresenius Medical Care to Sell Select Laboratory Assets to Quest Diagnostics

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Fresenius Medical Care North America in the sale of select assets of its wholly owned subsidiary Spectra Laboratories to Quest Diagnostics.

In addition, under a separate agreement, Quest Diagnostics will provide comprehensive laboratory services related to end-stage kidney disease and specialized water testing for patients and providers served by dialysis centers operated by Fresenius Medical Care and its wholly owned subsidiaries and joint venture partners in the United States.

The transaction was announced on February 24, 2025.

Fresenius Medical Care North America is a leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal disease. Spectra Laboratories is a provider of renal-specific laboratory testing services in the U.S. Quest Diagnostics is a provider of diagnostic testing services.
