Lawyers and professional staff in Cleary Gottlieb’s London office are volunteering in collaboration with the National Literacy Trust to support the literacy and employability skills of young people across the United Kingdom during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to school closures across the UK, the National Literacy Trust has launched Zone In, a free online platform for students and young adult learners ages 13 and up. Volunteers from Cleary have developed a range of activities and resources for the platform to help young people improve their literacy from home.
As part of the program, the National Literacy Trust published a series of blog posts written by Cleary lawyers and professional staff , providing young people across the UK with an insight into a range of possible careers at a top international law firm.
Cleary has partnered with the National Literacy Trust since 2016 in its efforts to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life. Further details on the firm’s previous fundraising efforts for NLT are available here.
