Cleary Gottlieb Hosts Work Experience for City Solicitors Horizons Students

From July 31 to August 4, Cleary Gottlieb’s London office hosted a one-week work experience placement for first-year university students as part of its longstanding partnership with City Solicitors Horizons.

The work experience provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s key practice areas, coupled with valuable firsthand experience of the work performed by our legal professionals. The students took part in skills workshops, mock interviews, and a social event with lawyers across the office. Organized by Cleary’s Social Mobility Working Group in London, the initiative aims to replicate the experience of a vacation scheme as much as possible to raise the students’ confidence and aspirations for their future law firm applications.

City Solicitors Horizons is a social mobility initiative supporting undergraduates from low socioeconomic backgrounds aspiring to a career in law. Cleary Gottlieb was one of the firms that founded the initiative in 2015. Previous mentees supported under this scheme have progressed to attain job offers from top law firms in London.
