Sixth Street in Majority Stake Acquisition in Wingstop Master Franchisee

Cleary Gottlieb is advising long-standing client, Sixth Street, in connection with its acquisition of a majority stake in Lemon Pepper Holdings Limited (“Wingstop UK”), the master franchisee for Wingstop in the UK and Ireland.

Wingstop UK will, following closing, continue to be led by its current management team and the co-founders of Wingstop UK, alongside Wingstop Inc., will remain minority investors.

Since opening its first site in 2018, Wingstop UK has created over 2,500 jobs and become the UK’s fastest growing restaurant brand. By the end of the year, Wingstop UK will operate 57 sites across the UK, with ambitions to reach 200 locations within the next five years.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
