Sheldon H. Alster’s practice focuses on taxation and related matters, including the tax aspects of corporate acquisitions, private equity, restructuring and insolvencies, partnerships and real estate.

He has extensive experience in international matters, including foreign investment in the United States, cross-border joint ventures and international tax planning for multinational businesses.

Sheldon joined the firm in 1981, became a partner in 1990 and senior counsel in 2014. He was resident in the London office from 2008 to 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Sheldon was associated with the accounting firm of Cornick, Garber & Sandler, and previously was an agent with the Internal Revenue Service.
