Emmett Saigal’s practice focuses on a range of corporate and financial transactions, including public and private M&A.
He specialises in UK public M&A having recently spent two years on secondment to the UK Takeover Panel (2022-2024), where he was the case officer for many of the most significant public M&A transactions of that time including Capco’s offer for Shaftesbury, KKR’s offer for Smart Metering Systems, OpenText’s offer for Micro Focus, Brookfield’s offer for HomeServe, Vistry’s offer for Countryside, and the competing offers for Wincanton by CMA CGM and GXO Logistics. Emmett also participated in material policy and disciplinary decisions taken by the Panel Executive as well as in consultation processes regarding important revisions to the Takeover Code.
Emmett joined the firm in 2018.
