Cleary Gottlieb partner Carmen Amalia Corrales wrote a chapter, titled “Toward a Cosmopolitan Ethic in Debt Restructuring,” for Duke University Law School’s Law and Contemporary Problems fall 2010 issue. The chapter focuses on the modern processes of sovereign debt restructuring, noting that since there is no international legal framework for sovereign debt restructuring, modern processes have been governed principally by custom. The chapter also provides a brief history of Ms. Corrales’ personal experiences with regard to processes of sovereign debt restructuring.
