On August 22, the Securities and Exchange Commission adopted final rules on specialized disclosure relating to the use of “conflict minerals” from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries. The conflict minerals disclosure for each calendar year must be filed annually on a new Specialized Disclosure Report, Form SD, no later than May 31 of the following year, beginning May 31, 2014.
