Cleary Gottlieb partners Heather Nyong’o, Ryan Shores, and Kimberly Spoerri were featured in the article, “How Cleary, Simpson Thacher Went To The Mattresses With FTC,” published by Law360.

Cleary represented Tempur Sealy in its $5 billion acquisition of Mattress Firm Group Inc. Heather and Ryan led the team at trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in defeating the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit seeking a preliminary injunction against the acquisition. Kim and partner Paul Shim were lead advisors on completing the acquisition, which closed on February 5, 2025.
