Vercellino Family to Sell Verfrut to Unifrutti

Cleary Gottlieb, alongside ACU Abogados, represented Inversiones Libra SpA in its sale of Sociedad Exportadora Verfrut SpA (Verfrut) to the Unifrutti Group.

The transaction signed on January 20, 2024, and is subject to the satisfaction of closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. The financial terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed.

Verfrut was established in 1996 by founder Romano Vercellino Dellafiori and has become one of the largest fruit producers and exporters with operations in Chile and Peru with a commercial and distribution network in the U.S., the EU, South America, and China. Verfrut produced more than 15 million boxes of grapes, cherries, apples, and blueberries last season across over 7,500 hectares of integrated farming and processing facilities.
