Vandemoortele to Acquire European Margarines and Spreads Activities From Bunge

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Vandemoortele NV (Vandemoortele) in the acquisition of the European margarines and spreads activities from Bunge SA (Bunge).

The transaction is subject to customary conditions including antitrust approvals, and closing is expected to occur in 2026.

Vandemoortele is a Belgian family-owned food group renowned as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers and sellers of high-quality frozen baked goods and plant-based food solutions.

Bunge, incorporated in Switzerland and headquartered in the United States, is a global leader in agribusiness, food, and ingredients. Bunge’s margarines and spreads activities represent a turnover above €450 million, employing over 800 people and operating production plants in Germany, Poland, and Finland.
