Oragroup SA in the Privatization of Banque Togolaise de Développement

Cleary Gottlieb represented Togo-based bank holding Oragroup SA in the acquisition of a majority interest in Banque Togolaise de Développement (BTD). The transaction closed in December 2012.

Oragroup SA, a portfolio company of Cleary Gottlieb client Emerging Capital Partners, is the holding company of Orabank Group, a banking group which is active in the six sub-Saharan African countries of Benin, Gabon, Guinea, Mauritania, Chad and Togo. This acquisition was part of the privatization process of certain Togolese banks currently undertaken by the Togolese Republic.
