New York Law Journal Names Abena Mainoo a 2019 ‘Rising Star’

Cleary Gottlieb partner Abena Mainoo has been named a Rising Star in The New York Law Journal’s annual list of the region’s most promising lawyers age 40 and younger.
Abena plays a lead role in the firm’s representation of companies in high-stakes cross-border investigations and complex civil litigation. She promotes access to justice through her involvement in pro bono work and bar association initiatives and also supports Cleary’s commitment to mentor and develop lawyers in the early stages of their careers.
Abena was recognized for leading a team of Cleary lawyers in the pro bono representation of over 30 individuals in a civil RICO case, and her career advice for up-and-coming lawyers was featured in the profile.
Rising Star honorees were selected based on nominations of attorneys age 40 and under who have established a record of accomplishments and demonstrated that they are top contributors to the practice of law and their communities.
