Cleary Gottlieb partner Mark Nelson was named a “Litigator of the Week” by The American Lawyer for his role in securing a major win on behalf of T-Mobile in an unprecedented multistate lawsuit, clearing the way for the T-Mobile/Sprint merger to continue moving forward.
The Q&A highlighted the remarkable collaboration between the Cleary antitrust team and the litigation teams from other firms that secured the win; AmLaw also noted the important contributions of fellow Cleary partners Dave Gelfand, George Cary, Daniel Culley, and Matthew Solomon.
Throughout the trial, the Cleary team successfully presented evidence on behalf of T-Mobile, demonstrating that the merger will transform the U.S. telecommunications landscape, increase competition, and result in lower prices and better quality for American consumers. The combined companies will create the “New T-Mobile” with a combined enterprise value of approximately $146 billion and over 125 million customers.
Litigators of the Week are selected by The American Lawyer for their work on recent impactful matters involving new precedents and bold strategies. This marks the sixth time Cleary lawyers have earned this honor over the past 18 months.
