International Follicular Lymphoma Challenge Secures Fiscal Sponsor and Tax-Exempt Status

August 24, 2020

Cleary Gottlieb represented International Follicular Lymphoma Challenge Inc. (IFLC) in securing federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3), after helping the organization incorporate as a Delaware not-for-profit.

The team also successfully negotiated and secured a fiscal sponsorship arrangement for IFLC with the Prostate Cancer Foundation while IFLC awaited its tax-exempt status.

IFLC is dedicated to supporting research designed to find a cure for follicular lymphoma, promoting public awareness of the pressing need to address this form of cancer, educating individuals suffering from follicular lymphoma and their families, and providing assistance to other organizations with similar charitable goals. Nicola Mendelsohn, inspired by her own follicular lymphoma diagnosis in 2016, founded the U.S.-based organization in connection with the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation, a registered UK charity. It is her goal that IFLC will work in collaboration with leaders in the research field to find a cure for follicular lymphoma and make a positive and immediate impact on patients’ lives.
