French State in EDF’s Successful €3.15 Billion Rights Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented the French State in Électricité de France’s (EDF) €3.15 billion rights offering.

The French State, which held approximately 83.88% of the EDF’s share capital, exercised its rights and subscribed for an amount of approximately €2.7 billion in EDF’s share capital increase.

The subscription period launched on March 18, 2022, and ended on April 1, 2022, with the result of the subscription being announced on April 5, 2022.
