Firm Now Has Formal, Validated Near-Term and Net-Zero Emissions Reduction Targets

October 14, 2024

Cleary Gottlieb has been recognized by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its sustainability efforts.

With the approval of science-based near-term and net-zero emissions reduction targets, Cleary now has formal and validated recognition of the action it is committed to take as a firm to help deliver a net-zero economy. This includes commitments to three main areas:

  • Renewable Electricity
  • Operational Emissions
  • Supply Chain Emissions

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. They develop standards, tools, and guidance which allow companies to set greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest.
