On Wednesday, September 30, Cleary Gottlieb won three LatinFinance Project and Infrastructure Finance Awards for the firm’s work on the financing for the 181.4-mile Los Ramones II Sur gas pipeline. Cleary received awards in the Best Oil and Gas Financing, Best Loan, and Best Infrastructure Financing: Mexico categories.
LatinFinance noted that the transaction for the Los Ramones II Sur pipeline “was the first since Mexico put the final touches on a landmark energy reform,” and that while the deal for the pipeline “paved the way for billions of dollars of financings that are set to support Mexico’s expanding pipeline network, the road to being first in class wasn’t easy.”
Jaime Calpe, the CEO of Tag Pipelines, said of the deal: “It was a great achievement getting the financing. It was clean and came on time. The lenders, the engineers, everyone worked perfectly.”
Cleary received its trio of LatinFinance awards at a ceremony in New York City that focused on excellence and innovation in the Latin American and Caribbean project finance market.
