Cleary Gottlieb Wins IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2023 ‘Restructuring Deal of the Year’

Cleary Gottlieb won “Restructuring Deal of the Year” at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2023 for advising Garuda, Indonesia’s flag carrier, in its $9.58 billion restructuring to address the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

IFLR highlighted Cleary’s work, “which required critical cross-border structuring to coordinate Indonesia’s PKPU regime with the English scheme processes” and included “compliance challenges related to the [Garuda]’s status as a state-owned entity.”
