Cleary Gottlieb Shortlisted for Eight IFLR1000 United States Awards

Cleary Gottlieb has been shortlisted for eight IFLR1000 United States Awards, including four Deals of the Year, two Lawyers of the Year, and two Teams of the Year.

The nominations include:

  • Capital Markets: Debt Deal of the Year (Alphabet $5.25 billion sustainability bond issue)
  • Capital Markets: Debt Lawyer of the Year (partner Michael Mazzuchi)
  • Capital Markets: Debt Team of the Year
  • Capital Markets: Equity Lawyer of the Year (partner Jeffrey Karpf)
  • Private Equity Deals of the Year (Apollo Global Management $6 billion acquisition of Tech Data Corporation; and Carlyle Global Partners investment in American Express Global Business Travel)
  • Private Equity Team of the Year
  • Restructuring and Insolvency Deal of the Year (McDermott International restructuring)

IFLR1000 United States Awards recognize “exceptional performance by law firms, teams, and individual lawyers, across the spectrum of corporate finance disciplines… The awards strive to reveal those deals that set new market precedents, defined new legal frameworks or introduced new tools and instruments.”
