Cleary Gottlieb Recognized at 2024 LatinFinance Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards

Cleary Gottlieb was recognized at LatinFinance’s 2024 Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards for its work advising on Mexico Infrastructure Partners’ (MIP) Iberdrola Power Portfolio Acquisition Financing – winner of two awards:

  • Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Latin America
  • Power Financing of the Year

In February 2024, Cleary represented a special purpose acquisition trust managed by MIP on the landmark secured financing to fund the $6.2 billion acquisition of 12 combined-cycle gas turbine plants and one wind farm from Iberdrola SA. The acquisition was funded with the proceeds of a $4.2 billion secured financing and a $2.4 billion equity contribution from Mexico’s National Infrastructure Fund (FONADIN).
