Cleary Gottlieb Named Chambers Global 2007 “Global Capital Markets Law Firm of the Year”

Cleary Gottlieb has been named ”Global Capital Markets Law Firm of the Year” by Chambers Global. The award was presented at a dinner in London on November 8th.

The Global Capital Markets award recognizes Cleary Gottlieb’s presence in many of the largest and first-of-their-kind debt and equity offerings worldwide, as well as in listings on exchanges throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia. In the Chambers Global 2007 Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers, Cleary Gottlieb is described as “among the first law firms to foresee the globalization of capital markets,” with further mention that “history shows that this strategy has paid off, as the firm is today crowned ‘the global capital markets practice par excellence’ and ‘a model of integration.

Cleary Gottlieb received nominations in four additional categories—marking the highest number of nominations the firm has ever received. The firm was also nominated for “Global Competition/Antitrust Law Firm of the Year,” an award the firm won last year, as well as for “Global Dispute Resolution,” “French” and “Italian” Law Firm of the Year.
