Cleary Gottlieb and Matteo Beretta Win at Legalcommunity Energy Awards 2025

Cleary Gottlieb won ‘Deal of the Year’ at Legalcommunity’s Energy Awards 2025, while Matteo Beretta was named ‘Lawyer of the Year: Regulatory Antitrust.’

The firm was among the legal advisors in the 2i Rete Gas deal, which was honored as ‘Deal of the Year.’

Matteo Beretta received the following commendation related to his award: “he advised a well-known multi-utility operator on antitrust aspects in the acquisition of its electricity distribution assets from one of the largest Italian operators. The transaction will allow the client to count on significant territorial synergies and increase the investments required for the energy transition.”
