Cleary Gottlieb announces that Lesley Janzen joins the firm as partner in the New York office, focusing on capital markets transactions.

“We are excited to welcome Lesley to our firm,” said Cleary Managing Partner Michael Gerstenzang. “Lesley has extensive transactional experience across important industries and clients, and we are delighted to have her join our growing capital markets practice.”

Lesley’s transactional practice focuses on high-yield debt offerings and equity transactions for both issuers and underwriters. She regularly advises sponsors, investment banks, investors and issuers in equity and debt offerings, including IPOs, leveraged buyouts and liability management transactions. Her broad transactional experience also includes advising domestic and international clients on corporate governance, debt- and restructuring-related capital markets matters.

“Lesley is uniquely tuned into the needs of our capital markets clients,” said capital markets partner Adam Fleisher. “Her arrival augments our global transactional footprint and bolsters our team of seasoned practitioners as they continue to focus on deal flow.”

Lesley advises clients across a wide range of industries, including energy, healthcare, manufacturing and industrial services, technology, telecommunications, consumer products and retail.

“I am pleased to join Cleary’s premier Capital Markets Group,” said Lesley. “I look forward to collaborating on and growing company-critical financings across the spectrum of capital markets transactions.”

Prior to joining Cleary, Lesley was a partner at another international law firm in New York. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and her B.S. from the University of Minnesota.
