Cleary Gottlieb Achieves Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification

Cleary Gottlieb has achieved Mansfield Rule Certification for the 2021-2022 calendar year as a commitment to diversifying our global leadership.

To achieve certification, Cleary completed a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab with built-in measurements, transparency, and accountability. Through its participation, the firm demonstrated a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and making progress on diversifying law firm leadership. The 2021-2022 calendar year was the first year in which Cleary participated in the certification process.

The Mansfield Rule Certification, created by Diversity Lab in mid-2017, requires participating firms to confirm that they consider candidate pools of at least 30% women, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership roles. The rule also covers promoting into equity partnership and selecting leaders for management roles.
