CFE in $100 Million Credit Facility

Cleary Gottlieb represented long-time client Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), the Mexican state-owned electric company, as co-obligor, in a $100 million bilateral credit facility by Bank of America to a CFE-sponsored special purpose trust that intends to use the proceeds to invest in energy projects in Mexico.

The transaction closed on March 31, 2023, and the borrowing is expected to occur in mid-April 2023.

CFE is a decentralized public entity of the Mexican federal government that generates and distributes electricity throughout Mexico.
