On December 18, 2014, the French Competition Authority imposed a total of €951 million of fines on 13 suppliers of cosmetics and detergents, among which L’Oréal (€189 million), Unilever (€172 million), Protect & Gamble (€154 million), Reckitt Benckiser (€121 million) and Henkel (€109 million), for having exchanged pricing information between 2003 and 2006.
Henkel obtained a 40% fine reduction thanks to its leniency applications, its cooperation with the French Competition Authority throughout the proceedings, its decision to opt for the no-challenge procedure and its commitment to significantly upgrade its compliance program.
