On September 30, 2014, Cleary Gottlieb hosted a Q&A with Edward D. Kleinbard in its New York office to discuss his recently published book, We Are Better Than This: How Government Should Spend Our Money. The session, moderated by Cleary Senior Counsel Leslie B. Samuels, examines the budget debates in the United States, the resulting stalemate and ideas for moving the country forward. Mr. Kleinbard is the Johnson Professor of Law and Business at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law and a Fellow at The Century Foundation. Prior to these appointments, Professor Kleinbard served as Chief of Staff of the U.S. Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation, and former Cleary Gottlieb Partner.
