Cleary Gottlieb hosted an in-person discussion about the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and generative AI and the ways in which the use of AI can pose privacy risks under U.S. and foreign laws.

The discussion was part of Cleary’s Financial Institutions Privacy Roundtable Breakfast Series.

Among other topics, panelists discussed:

  • The use of personal data to train AI models
  • How usage and retention of prompts can lead to privacy liabilities and whether and in what circumstances output data constitutes “personal information”
  • Risks associated with usage of third-party vendors to provide AI services
