On November 1, 2011, Cleary Gottlieb partner Lisa M. Schweitzer appeared on a panel entitled “Lessons from the Largest Patent Sale in History,” hosted by Navigant. The panelists explained critical aspects of the transaction and the years of work that led up to it. The panel focused on how the record-setting transaction unfolded, from efforts to preserve the IP as a separate and distinct asset group in bankruptcy, to the in-depth work of demonstrating and enhancing the portfolio’s value, to the months-long sale process and the auction itself.
