Cleary Gottlieb partners Robbert Snelders, Jennifer Kennedy Park, Sunil Gadhia, and counsel Richard Pepper spoke in the webinar, “Legal Privilege for In-House Counsel: A Roundtable Inspired by the Rotterdam District Court’s Recent Shell Judgement.”
The webinar, which was hosted by the European Company Lawyers Association and Cleary, discussed the recent judgment by the Rotterdam District Court in a case concerning the application of legal professional privilege to in-house counsel. The webinar also included a discussion of the legal privilege rules in UK and U.S. civil litigation and during EU Commission antitrust investigations, and the challenges faced by in-house counsel in maximizing LPP protection.
Jonathan Marsh, ECLA President and International General Counsel at Total Marketing & Services, and Dr. Clarissa Freundorfer, Chairwoman of the German Bar Association and General Counsel at DB Cargo AG, also participated in the discussion.
