On February 25 and 26, 2014, Paul Marquardt and Gamal M. Abouali presented on Investing in U.S. Public Companies, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The United States remains one of the most attractive markets for investment and one that is increasingly in the sights of Middle East investors. However, exploiting the opportunities presented by this dynamic market requires navigation of increasingly complex laws and regulations. This seminar focuses on some of the key legal issues facing inbound minority investments into U.S. public companies, including restrictions on foreign investment (including those administered by CFIUS), reporting obligations on investors in publicly-traded companies, economic sanctions, stakebuilding rules, short-swing profit rules applicable to corporate insiders, and other areas.
