EMEA Senior Events Specialist

The Events Team is responsible for the development, production and execution of a broad range of live and virtual client events, inclusive of but not limited to conferences, webinars, and client entertainment and hospitality events.

The Events Team also assists with the coordination of large internal practice group and partner meetings and retreats.

The EMEA Senior Events Specialist serves as an integral part of the Global Business development team, working with Business Development Practice Group support teams in the development and planning of these events, from the initial scope of work through the event’s conclusion. This role will also liaise with Business Development colleagues and with the Operation Manager/Supervisor across the firm’s EMEA offices to support the implementation of best event practices (also with the appropriate involvement of local office support colleagues), streamline processes and create effective communication chains.  

Responsibilities

  • Manage events from initial concept through to its conclusion. Including establishing and managing project timelines, venue selection, contract negotiations, RSVP list management, managing the creation of event collateral such as invitations and signage, speaker procurement and coordination, catering, design, audio/visual needs, budget management and reconciliation and the preparation of event debriefs.
  •  Work on a collaborative basis with relevant internal departments to drive 360-degree strategy across events.
  • Work with Partners and internal departments to coordinate substantive and social client event programs and hospitality.
  • Stay current on industry trends, venues, restaurants, food trends, entertainment, and event technology.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with vendors and industry professionals to ensure the firm receives the highest level of service.
  • Assist with the coordination and management of the Global Business Development event calendar management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong computer skills with expertise in various Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  •  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Cvent preferred.
  • Proficient in both Zoom webinar and meeting platforms.
  • Team player with superior client service skills and attention to detail and quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of the events landscape in London (and ideally other major European cities), including rental venues, restaurants, caterers, and key suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours as needed to attend events and complete necessary and time sensitive tasks.
  • Fluency in another European languages is a plus, but not essential.

Education and Experience

  • Educated to degree level preferred, but candidates without a degree who demonstrate equivalent experience or qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
  • Five to seven years of relevant event experience, preferably with a professional services firm.
