To keep the EU competitive in the clean energy transition, the Commission supports an ambitious scaling up in the manufacturing of net-zero technologies. With the proposed Net-Zero Industry Act, a cornerstone of the EU Green Deal Industrial Plan, the Commission aims to promote investments in net-zero and carbon capture technologies (CCS).
Net-zero technologies include, among others, renewable energies technologies, storage technologies, renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs), heat pumps, as well as carbon capture and storage technologies.
