National Measures to Encourage Investment

While the EU is adopting stricter targets for renewable energy production, most Member States are trying to align their national policies accordingly. For instance, in France, the Parliament definitively adopted a new renewable energy bill to “accelerate renewable energy production”. The Government announced its ambition to achieve by 2050 a tenfold expansion in solar energy output to exceed 100GW and to roll out fifty new offshore windfarms to reach 40GW. To do so, the bill aims to simplify authorisation procedures for renewable projects.
