Warburg Pincus and Co-Investors in $1.25 Billion Share Subscription in Airtel Africa

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Warburg Pincus and other investors in relation to a $1.25 billion investment in Airtel Africa Ltd. (Airtel Africa).

The transaction signed on October 16, 2018, and represents one of the largest international private equity investments in Africa to date. 

Airtel Africa intends to undertake an initial public offering in due course.

Airtel Africa provides telecommunications and mobile money services in 14 jurisdictions across Africa.
